Batina T. Smith is an HR executive with more than 20 years of experience building, modernizing, and leading the people function for private equity–backed and high-growth companies with frontline, industrial, and skilled-trades workforces.
As Vice President & Head of HR at AMPORTS, she leads people strategy for more than 1,800 regular and contingent employees across multi-state U.S. and Mexico operations. Her work spans HR transformation, talent acquisition, learning and development, HR technology, culture, succession planning, and acquisition integration.
Her published career highlights include leading the ADP-to-UKG migration, reducing HR administrative workload by 23% and reaching 85% employee self-service adoption; generating more than $1.5 million in talent acquisition savings; and leading the people side of six AMPORTS acquisition integrations.
Earlier leadership roles include Henry Schein, Dixon Hughes Goodman, Jacob Holm Industries, and MB HAYNES Corporation. Across her career, she has built or rebuilt the HR function at four companies.
Batina holds a BS in Business with a Human Resource Management specialization from Capella University, graduating summa cum laude. Her professional credentials include SPHR, SHRM-SCP, and sHRBP, along with DISC, Driving Forces, and EQ facilitator certification.
